Hiking News:

I need recommendations for hiking shoes/boots. Details within...

I'm looking for shoes for hiking and backpacking. I haven't yet decided between boots, hiking shoes, or trail runners. I've been using trail runners for the past 500 miles or so, but that's mainly because they were the most breathable shoes I could find. I think I could enjoy more support if I could find a boot that breathes better. My biggest issues are narrow, sweaty feet. And the sides of my pinky toes rub on the outside of the shoe so hard they wore holes in the mesh. So I...

What are the pros and cons of a reindeer hide as a rollmat.

I'm thinking about swapping my rollmat for a reindeer hide and wondered what the pros and cons are. My main reason for thinking of getting one is that I want to be more sustainable and not buy lots of plastics but also to be able to use it in winter and summer. I've seen many people using them for all seasons and say that they are good, I wondered if you guys knew anything about them please and thank you submitted by /u/Bananaface21 [link] [comments]...

The North Face Men's Atlas Triclimate Jacket

Hello, Anyone have any thoughts on this jacket Supposed normal price is 260, but it seems to be on sale at many places for 130. That's a bit higher than I'd like to spend on just a jacket, but I have to admit that I don't have a solid, cold weather, water/wind proof jacket at the moment. To those of you who know, is this jacket a high build-quality jacket worth the 130 dollars I really don't want to accidentally pay for something put together in a 3rd world country for 10 dollar...

4FRNT Hoji Skis - 8979ffhoji14zz-4frnt-skis by 4FRNT

Item description: This Hiking Skis product is by 4FRNT - Late one night, I went back to the office where Eric remained busy crafting a narrower shape out of the same camber forms as the Renegade. I arrived just in time, music blaring with smoke in the air, with Eric fitting the edges shortly after mixing the pot of resin. I did as he asked, with each swipe of resin and with every layer of fiberglass we pieced together the ski he had been dreaming of for weeks. "Based off of the performance qualities developed, tested and proven by the Renegade, the HOJI incorporates Reflect Tech, matching the rocker profile with the sidecut radius. This gives the HOJI an unparalleled powder carving sensation that I have yet to experience on any other ski (except for the Renegade of course . With a 112mm waist it is designed to also be a versatile ski in firmer snow conditions for ski touring. I am extremely excited about the HOJI and I will have them on my feet for a good portion of the season." Signature series Art: Eric Hjorleifson Semi: Semi-cap partially wraps the topsheet around the sidewall for additional durability-cap construction Hi-Lite core Sintered base Full-wrap edge Groomers: 7 Powder: 12 Park: 3 Halfpipe: 2 All mountain: 10 Tip/ Tail Taper: The neutral sidecut length at the tip and tails' widest dimension Asymmetrical: A directional shape gives the ski a more consistent feel Reverse Camber: A full radius along the length of the ski gives the ski maximum float, and nimble turning Big Mountain: These skis will get you down the steepest, tightest and most exposed lines out there Reflect Tech: Reflect Technology was dreamed up by the mind of Eric Hjorleifson as a way to make rocker and side-cut work together...
