New outdoor shoe company!

Hey guys! Thought some of you might be interested in a slightly different take on an 'outdoor' boot. I wanted to have the performance benefits of a traditional outdoor hiking boot (durable upper, water-resistant, all-terrain tread), while at the same time adding in a bit of a 'street' appeal as well...making this a boot you can take both on and off the trails! We just launched on Kickstarter and in 23 hours we raised 30K and were 100% funded :) If you h...

Good Base Layer Options for a frugal girlfriend

So, I like to invest in good gear, my girl likes to spend as little money as possible. I've convinced her to spend good money on boots and a jacket, but base layers are proving to be more difficult. So, I need good base layer shirts, underwear, and socks for warm and cold seasons for her. I'd appreciate any advice I can get. submitted by /u/Watsyurdeal [link] [comments]...

Gear advice

Hey guys! I'm looking for some advice on some new base and mid-layers, currently I have some standard synthetic base layers one from north face and one from under armour. For my mid-layers I only have the Patagonia r1 regulator fleece. For my outer layer I have the Arc'Teryx Beta AR (revised). Firstly, Do you guys have any specific advice on some top of the range base and mid-layers Secondly, should I stick with the Arc'Teryx Beta AR as my outer or is there something better that'...

Which jacket is warmer? Thorium AR or Cerium LT?

Hi all - i will be getting one of these and can't decide, anyone have experience with both I know the Cerium is lighter and has better quality down. But Thorium has more down. Uses will be insulation under shell, standalone on weather appropriate days, and around town. Just curious to know which one is warmer. submitted by /u/Shadqc [link] [comments]...

K2 A.M.P. Force Skis - 8953k2afi12zz-k2-skis by K2

Item description: This Hiking Skis product is by K2 - The Force has unbridled maneuverability, yet it holds true mid-carve and provides confidence to skiers linking their first perfectly carved turns together. A forgiving flex combined with Catch-Free Rocker makes learning to ski easier than ever. All of this combined with a modest price tag leaves no excuse not to get out there and give it a go. CATCH FREE ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility. This elevated tip and tail assures effortless initiation at slow speeds, stability throughout the turn and a predictable release from the turn. Simply put, Catch-free Rocker provides confidence, control and ease for developing skiers. MOD TECHNOLOGY: High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected. GLASS WEB: Enveloping the Mod structure in a secondary glass weave for additional torsional rigidity provides a more forgiving and versatile version of the Carbon Web. MOD MONIC: A Focused Mass-Dampener The Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass-dampening at a targeted location. CAP CONSTRUCTION: Durable and lightweight "cap" skis are built by a sophisticated molding process that envelopes the core and internal materials with the top layer of the ski. Used throughout our ski line, cap constructions can be assembled with a variety of different cores. These variations, such as glass and/ or metal materials, are the determining factors of the skis' performance. Sidecut: 118/ 74/ 103... Learn More
